Contract Detroit

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 20, 2026

Who we are and what this covers

Contract Detroit at https://contractdetroit.com is operated by C4 Holding Company LLC ("Contract Detroit," "we," "us"). This policy explains how we handle personal information when you browse the directory, create an account, publish a professional profile, post a project, submit a proposal, or communicate through the service.

Contact us about privacy or your information at info@incomechecker.com. Our mailing address is 16554 Wyoming, Suite 201, Detroit, MI 48221.

Information we collect

Please do not include Social Security numbers, payment-card details, government identity documents, access codes, or other sensitive information in profiles, listings, photos, proposals, or messages. Check photos for addresses, faces, documents, or other information you do not intend to disclose.

How we use information

We use information to operate the directory and marketplace; create and authenticate accounts; display information you choose to publish; deliver messages, proposals, and notifications; remember account preferences; respond to requests; diagnose problems; protect accounts and the service; investigate abuse; and meet applicable legal obligations.

Account and security communications, including password-reset messages, help us operate your account. Any optional promotional email program and its choices will be described when offered. Publishing a listing does not itself authorize us to use your information for an unrelated advertising program.

What other people can see

Public listings. New profiles are private by default. When you publish a professional profile, its public information can be viewed by visitors and indexed by search engines. Public profile pages can include your name or business identity, biography, skills, location, services, and portfolio photos. Contact visibility controls apply to phone and public-email disclosures in account features; the public directory currently excludes those contact fields. A profile's privacy controls do not automatically remove contact information that you type into a biography, listing, image, or message.

Projects and proposals. Open projects can be discoverable by other signed-in users. A proposal is available to its author and the project owner. Include only information appropriate for the people who can see it.

Messages. Your messaging counterpart can access your profile identity through the account interface even when your profile is not published in the public directory; contact-field visibility controls still apply. Messages and associated read status are available through the account interface to their participants. They are stored on our infrastructure and are not an end-to-end encrypted messaging service. Our service providers process them to operate the service, and authorized operational access may be needed for support, security, abuse investigation, or legal obligations. A recipient can copy or disclose information you send them.

Public copies. Unpublishing or changing a listing restricts its availability through our service, but cannot retrieve screenshots, recipient copies, or information already cached or indexed by third parties. You can also request removal from a search engine directly.

Service providers and other disclosures

We use Vercel to host the website and application and Neon for the database and managed account authentication. These providers process information needed to deliver their services to us. Account pages also request the Darker Grotesque font from Google Fonts, which involves a request from your browser to Google's servers. Links you choose to follow to external websites are governed by those websites' policies.

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law or a valid legal request, protect rights and safety, investigate misuse, or establish or defend a legal claim. If the business or its assets are transferred, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law and the protections described in this policy.

The current service does not offer paid memberships, process marketplace payments, run an advertising network, or install advertising tracking code. If those practices change, we will update this policy and provide any notice or choice required by law before the new use begins.

Cookies and browser storage

We use first-party authentication cookies to maintain sign-in and a separate, short-lived cookie to authorize access to private uploaded images. Browser local storage caches profile information and remembers the selected hiring or professional mode; session storage can remember a signup role or destination during account access. These technologies support the service rather than advertising across websites.

You can use browser controls to remove cookies or stored site information. Doing so may sign you out or reset preferences. Sign out when using a shared device. We have not implemented a special response to browser Do Not Track signals. This does not change any privacy rights that apply to you by law.

Your choices and requests

You can edit available profile fields and visibility settings in your account. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or ask a privacy question, by contacting info@incomechecker.com. We may need to verify your identity and clarify the request to protect your information. We will handle requests as required by applicable law; some information may need to be retained for legal obligations, security, or the establishment or defense of claims.

You can permanently delete your account in Settings by confirming DELETE MY ACCOUNT. This removes your managed sign-in account and associated application records, including your profile, uploads, services, projects, proposals, messages and notifications. Deletion also removes shared conversation records from our application; recipients may retain copies outside it. Provider backups and operational records may persist according to provider retention and legal requirements. You can also contact us for help with a deletion request. Do not send identity documents unless we explain why a specific verification step is necessary and provide an appropriate way to complete it.

Retention and security

We retain information to provide the service and for legitimate operational, security, and legal purposes. Retention depends on the information, the reason it was collected, account status, applicable obligations, and backup or service-provider requirements. A deletion request does not necessarily remove information immediately from backups or copies held by recipients. We do not promise a fixed deletion deadline beyond what applicable law requires.

We use access controls and technical safeguards intended to protect information, including encrypted transport and account-based restrictions on private records. No internet service or storage system can guarantee complete security. Report suspected unauthorized access to info@incomechecker.com. We will provide any security-incident notices required by applicable law.

Children and location

Contract Detroit is intended for adults arranging or offering services, not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has supplied information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

The service focuses on the Detroit area and uses US-based hosting and database infrastructure. Your information is processed where we and our providers operate; using the service from another country can involve a transfer to the United States. We do not represent that your information always remains in one state or data center.

Changes

We will update this policy when our practices change and revise its effective date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by applicable law.
